Tony introduced and spoke about the third of our church values: Compassion, as modelled by Jesus. We hope that the service is a blessing to all who watch. Apologies that there was no congregational mic feed to the camera for the first 10 minutes. We hope that doesn’t affect your enjoyment of the service too much.

29th September 2024

Dan and Annie led today’s service continuing the theme of “Love” – one of our five church values. Alan Kerry led our sung worship. Anita led us in intercessory prayers. Kevin read the scriptures from 1 John 2 3-11 and Luke 10 25-27. Alan started us looking at the second of our 5 core values - “Love”. Rosemond brought the reading from 1 John 4 v 7-21. Amongst the many gems there were a few fascinating facts. We learnt about the Bridge to Nowhere on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides and Lord Shaftsbury’s memorial in Piccadilly Circus which we all refer to as Eros’s statue.

1st September 2024

Today’s service starts a new and exciting series revisiting the five core values of Vale Community Church. Worship was led by Dan Wilson supported by Russ, Carol and Mike. Heather and Sherri served communion. We hope you are blessed by watching the service.

18th August 2024

It was great to have our new ministers, Dan and Annie Dupree, host and lead this morning’s service. It was informative about Tek Ura, the Albanian charity they are passionate about, combined with a message about God’s faithfulness as illustrated by Joshua’s story. We all failed miserably at the Albanian General Knowledge quiz, but nevertheless learned a lot about this country, dear to Dan and Annie’s heart. Carol brought the reading from Joshua 1 and 21: 41-43. followed by a message from Dan. It was lovely seeing the church full of all generations and many visitors. The worship was beautifully and enthusiastically led by Russ, Carol Dan and Jim. Thanks to the many that contributed in so many ways to a great service. We hope that you will be blessed by watching the service.

28th July 2024

This morning’s service was hosted by Kevin and Anita. We thanked Liz for her 6 years of service on the Leadership team. Dan, Russ, Carol and Jim led our time of sung worship. Liz brought the reading from John 5:1-18 , Jesus healing the paralytic man on the Sabbath. In her message Lisa extracted a lot of hidden meaning from this miracle. She looked at the key players, the paralytic, the Jewish leaders and Jesus and hinted that the paralytic maybe wasnt over enthusiastic about being healed and certainly wasnt leaping for joy. It made us think about whether we are happier being resigned to being paralysed or whether we do really want to change our lifestyles and follow Jesus wholeheartedly. The service finished with Sherri and her eager young helpers showing off what they had been creating in Kidszone. Thank you to Lisa, to the worship leaders in taking risks singing new songs, Sherri and for all who took part from welcomers to coffee makers to locker uppers. We hope you are blessed by being at or watching this service

He drew out a number of interesting points contained in this encouraging letter including Paul’s emphasis on working together in unity. He made reference to the race being a marathon not a sprint and that means there are numerous “winners” who run the race alongside us with a cloud of witnesses cheering us on. How do we deal with the 20 mile “wall” that marathon runners hit and still carry on towards the goal. The answer: looking forward rather than behind. We hope you are blessed by the service.

14th April 2024

Today’s service was hosted by Heather. Anita brought the latest update from Wit and Helen in Thailand. Jim led our worship. Anita led us in a time of prayer with a theme of thankfulness. As we, as a small church, approach the exciting prospect of Dan and Annie Dupree joining us as Pioneer Ministers in July, we are looking at how a small church was established in Philippi. Katrina set the scene by reading from Acts 16: 6-24 which explained how Paul and Timothy headed west with a specific call - a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” Other routes were barred to them. It was great having Alan Dinnie back wth us today. He gave a taster menu of what this book contains and touched on the unfolding story as 3 individuals from different sectors of society came to know Christ and so establish the first church in Europe. It looks like a relevant and exciting series. We hope you are blessed by today’s service.

This morning’s service was the last of our Summer holiday café style church services. It was led by Heather and looked at a charity called “Mary’s Meals” that has grown over 21 years from humble beginnings. Maureen brought a reading from Psalm 107. The Mary’s Meals campaign was born in 2002 when Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow visited Malawi during a famine and met a mother dying from AIDS. When Magnus asked her eldest son Edward what his dreams were in life, he replied simply: “I want to have enough food to eat and to go to school one day.” The charity began by feeding just 200 children in Malawi in 2002. Today, they feed 2,429,182 hungry children every school day across 18 countries. The charity is named in honour of Mary, the mother of Jesus, who brought up her own child in poverty. Heather had been touched by the book written by Magnus and wondered if this is something that Vale could support either corporately or individually. The centrepiece of the service was a film by the charity entitled “Generation Hope”. After the film we split into groups on 4 tables and offered feedback although this feedback part of the service is not included in this video. The service closed with the World Blessing 2023

This Sunday's service is our chance finally to say thank you in person to Steve and Jo for 14 years of giving thenselves in ministry to us at Vale Community Church following their retirement in July. Anita hosts the service. There are words of thanks and blessing from Sherri, Janette, Sandra, Stuart and Steve. Sherri, Muureen and Elaine give presents to Steve and Jo. Worship is from iSing Worship and Russ and Carol share a song based on 2 Chronicles 7:14 - "If my people will humble themselves" Kevin looks at the ministry of Amos and how it's warnings apply to today. Heidi brings the reading from Amos 1:1-8.
