From Monday 8th August until Friday 12th August, Church End Lower School in Marston gave us permission to turn their school hall into the ‘seaside’. The hall was filled with deckchairs, waves, beach, Punch and Judy, beach balls, lifeguard station, shark attacks, jokes, weather reports, seagulls and an ice cream kiosk as we embarked on this year’s holiday club ‘Seaside Rock’.
80 children came each day to the beach where they embarked upon beach games, singing, drama, prayer, dvd, crafts, chants, dancing and much more. They came to have fun whilst finding out about the different encounters Peter had with Jesus and how that changed his life forever.
The week closed with 200 friends and family returning on the Friday evening to see a short presentation of the week followed by a sausage and chip supper in the playground. Great fun was had not only by the children attending but by the helpers also.
