Locally
|
Our heart is to be incarnational and missional in what we do, going to the people of Marston Moretaine, listening to their needs and concerns, building relationships and serving/blessing them in a way that expresses God’s love. We have started to do this through:

Hope 2008
As part of this national imitative by Christians to love and serve their local communities, Vale Community Church has sought and been granted a maintenance licence to maintain the roundabout in Bedford Road. You might not see any difference at the moment, but come spring time you should see a delight of colour. We also plan to take care of the weeds around the base of the roundabout.

Open The Book
A team goes in to the school on most Monday afternoons to lead Open The Book assemblies in Broadmead (Stewartby) and Church End Lower (Marston Moretaine) schools. These assemblies offer a free programme of themed and dramatised Bible stories, each around 10 minutes long that fit comfortably into the assembly times for the school. Storytellers use drama, mime, props, costume - even the children and staff themselves - to present Bible stories in ways that are lively, engaging, informative and great fun for everyone involved!

Children's Counselling
One of our team (a trained counsellor) along with another counsellor from Bromham Baptist Church go in to Marston Vale Middle School in Stewartby once a week to provide counselling for any children or young people that would benefit from it. We recognise that children and young people sometimes experience emotional difficulties for a number of reasons. It may be due to a change in circumstances such as separation, divorce, bereavement, illness, abuse, low self-esteem, problems at school or at home. Our aim is to enable each child or young person to become clearer about what is happening to them and to provide a safe space to understand the events in their lives.

School Fêtes
We have been involved with both Broamead Lower and Church End Lower School fetes: providing the PA system and helping serve refreshments at Broadmead Lower; and putting on puppet shows and workshops, and helping serve on stalls at Church End Lower.
